Cindy’s Pie in the Sky

WHAT: Cindy’s (12 S. Michigan Ave.) makes entertaining easier this Thanksgiving with the return of Pie in the Sky. Executive Pastry Chef Jove Hubbard offers his pastry creations Tuesday, November 21 and Wednesday, November 22 for pre-order and purchase at Cindy’s.

The decadent and delightful pies are available to guests by both pre-order and for immediate purchase in the pie shop located within the rooftop restaurant. These seasonal sweet treats reflect the whimsical as well as wholesome and comforting flavors found on Chef Hubbard’s dessert menu available at Cindy’s. Pie in the Sky flavors will include:

· Traditional Pumpkin ($20, whole pie)

· Maple Crème Fraiche ($20, whole pie)

· Carrot Cake ($20, whole cake)

· Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Whoopie pies ($8, individual-sized)

While Chef Hubbard’s pies provide guests the very real opportunity to bring a taste of Cindy’s home for the holiday season, Cindy’s Spirit Guide Nandini Khaund also invites guests to warm up, sip and stay awhile with a new hot cocktail before heading out the door with a fresh pie. Added to the potions and elixirs menu this fall, these winter warmers include: Chamurrado & Churro, a riff on the classic Mexican hot chocolate served faithfully with a churro; Sweet Poison, Cindy’s twist on a hot toddy incorporating local berries along with aquavit berry liquor, Chinese 5 spice and honey; and Forbidden Milk, a combination of Amaro Nonino, Braulio, coconut, forbidden black rice milk, black sesame and dried rose.
